Made in Rhome, Texas: Inside the IIP Plant

When you buy reflective insulation, it helps to know who actually makes it. IIP Texas (Innovative Insulation Products, Inc.) runs its own production lines in Rhome, Texas, northwest of Fort Worth. Here is what happens between a bag of resin and a pallet of finished rolls on your truck.

Every step under one roof

Our plant handles extrusion coating, lamination, air-bubble production and slitting in one building. That is why we can hold stock, run custom widths and take private-label orders without sending work out to other converters.

  • Extrusion coating: molten polyethylene is coated onto metallized film (MPET), foil, paper or woven fabric.
  • Lamination: layers are bonded into finished structures such as foil/woven/foil radiant barrier.
  • Air-bubble lines: closed polyethylene air bubbles are formed and laminated between reflective and white faces to make single bubble, double bubble and our new 1 in (25 mm) Superbubble.
  • Slitting and rewinding: master rolls are cut to the widths and lengths you order.

Tested, not guessed

IIP products are tested by R&D Services, Inc., an independent ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, for fire performance, vapor permeance and physical properties. Our Double Bubble Foil/White is rated Class A / Class 1 under ASTM E84 on both faces and the taped joint, and gives R-17.2 (RSI 3.03) as a system with heat flowing down. Every product page on our site shows its data sheet values with the test conditions stated, as the FTC R-value Rule requires.

Our own building is the showroom

The steel building at our Rhome site is lined with IIP double bubble, the same product we ship to metal-building contractors, poultry growers and distributors. It shows exactly how the white face finishes a ceiling and how the seams are taped.

Stocked in Texas, shipped by the pallet

Finished rolls go straight onto racking in our warehouse. We ship LTL (pallet) freight to job sites and distributors across the United States and Canada, quoted at the actual carrier rate to your ZIP or postal code.

More than insulation

The same lines run toll coating, lamination and private-label work on film, foil, paper and woven fabric, with your structure and your brand on the core. See laminating and toll converting.
